Auction Item update
- · Jennifer Siebold secured a donation from SuDan Farms this week. Thank you!
- · Janet Allison (Teacher and Life Coach) will be donating a "Garden Party" a gathering of parents to talk with her and each other about their parenting challenges and successes
- · Theresa Hill and Craig Dermer have donated Campfire with Cowboy Boot Hill: an outdoor evening of stories and song around the campfire! Dust off those spurs, saddle up and ride out just west of Sauvie Island to a barn-turned-house to meet the yodeling cowboy, Boot Hill (PVS dad, Craig Dermer). With mandolin in hand, Cowboy Boot and his trusty cowpokes will entertain your child with campy crafts, sing-a-long songs of the wild west, silly ghost stories and of course, hot dogs and roasting marshmallows.
- · Kassidy Bond from Lowman's class volunteered to do her flower fractile art on 4 pairs of boots (we need someone to donate the rain boots)
- · Alma Chocolates has been solicited
- · Theresa Molter and Gillian Beck are donating a vegetarian cooking class: No need to rely on the New Seasons deli counter anymore! It only takes a few minutes to prepare food for casual entertaining at home. Learn how to make your own easy, beautiful and delicious salad rolls and other seasonal snacks; end the party with homemade gelato. Inspired by the cookbooks Party Food for Vegetarians by Celia Brooks-Brown and Entertaining for a Veggie Planet by Didi Emmons.
- · Jody Ruether has created a "Gardener's Gift Basket" from Portland Nursery
- · Ashleigh Kayser is compiling "A Walk Down Broadway" basket, inlcuding one item from the Starbucks on NE broadway and various items and certificates from the businesses on the NE section of the street.
- · "Play After Play" has been solicited
Auction Items from Amy Bean
First - "Flight School". This would be an easel auction, with room for 10 or 12 kids and be about 4 hours long. My husband and I own a small airplane that is hangared at the Scappoose Airport. The day would include a picnic lunch, "flight school" which would educate the kids and parents about the different parts of an airplane and how they work, instruments, what makes flight possible, weather and so on. The children would be able to sit in the cockpit, have their picture taken and be taxied around the airport in groups of 2 or three. As Glen is a private pilot (meaning unable to accept compensation for flying), and for liability's sake - we are NOT offering a flight. This would more aptly be called "Ground School" but it sounds much more exciting and cool referring to flight. ;)
Second - "Massage-a-Month" package. I'm a massage therapist, and have many friends who are as well. I'm approaching my circle and asking for a donated gift certificate from each, hopefully as many as twelve so that the package would include one massage a month for a year.
Third - "Guided Geocaching". This may be included in our class staycation, not sure. But we have a GPS and have done a lot of caching in the easy level of searching. It's a lot of fun, and gets people out and about into areas they might not otherwise go. Simple to do either in the Portland area or elsewhere in the state. Treasure hunting at it's finest! :)
